Meet the Aston Family. Also we call them some of the sweetest people we have ever met. No, seriously, salt of the earth type folks. I met Maite (that is pronounced mai-tay:) while hanging out with a group of close girl friends over a year ago, and just loved her from the start. She truly has the most sincere sun-shiney personality ever. She was telling all of us that she moved with her husband from Spain to California, and then from California to central Texas, where she is now. All of the ladies in the group are just going on about how hard that must be for her, and Maite just said, "no, it's an adventure, and I love my husband and family, so we live here now."

Totally impressed.
So, when asked if we would photograph her completely adorable family in the fall, of course I could not wait!
Enjoy these Texas sun-shiney family portraits of the Aston Family.

I just adore these portraits of their oldest son, Walter.

And here is a collage of cuteness. Walter is so sweet with his little brother, Liam.

Love, love, love these portraits of Steve and Maite!

When I look at this next portrait, it completely embodies how I want to mother. It is so tender and loving, and this one portrait, I am sure will mean the world to Walter in 20 years. When he can look back and have a visual reminder of how his mother loves him.

In mid November of last fall we hosted an all day mini-session event in the ft. worth area. We like to do this annually in that area of Texas as a way of serving all of our family and their friends too!

You may be familier with this kind of session, because they are growing in popularity across the photography industry as a whole. Something that I would like to clarify is that a mini-session is not for every client. For example, if you have never had professional portraits taken of your family, squeezing them into a mini-session will only leave you wishing you had more. A mini-session will NOT deliver all of the wonderful memories and benefits that you can expect from a full length family portrait session. We make sure to clarify this point with clients when booking, because if you have some idea of walking away with 30 amazing portrats of your family that is not going to happen.
A mini-session is very strictly one location (the photographer's choice) and 30 min in length. So, a mini-session is totally appropriate and suitable for a family who stays current with their family portraits as well as portraits of all of their children during those milestone moments. If you are only looking for one or two updated family portraits and a few of the children, this is totally the session for you! So, without any more of this chitty-chatting. Here are a few of the favorite portraits that were created this year.

First off, yes, this family is absolutely as sweet as their name sounds. We completely enjoyed our time with both their rambunctious oldest daughter, Fiona and their newest sweetest baby girl, Eloise. (I love their choice in romantic, feminine names for the girls, so lovely.)

Meet Fiona,

And the new sweet, Eloise,
She was not exactly happy with me for putting her in that tutu, but
c'mon, look at how adorable she is! Still gushing on her cuteness.
It just doesn't get better in my opinion, than the summertime sun-bursty pictures with the whole family. It makes me almost exclusively want to shoot family photos during the summertime. This light, look, and texture is hard to beat folks. Something to consider for those of you wanting to procrastinate Holiday photos until December 20th. (Smiles) Wouldn't you rather have pictures of everyone warm, tanned, and happy? Rather than freezing, red nosed, and un-warmed by the winter sun? All that to say, enjoy this series of warm, summery, happy pictures!

I always like to grab a few moments with just mom and dad, to help them remember life before their little blessings. A few of Emily and Daniel.
Also, I think this one is ready for modeling, look at her little stare back at my camera, so adorable.

Eloise couldn't stop looking at her Mama in this picture.

What Fiona was doing while we were taking pictures of Eloise. The prize for good picture taking, yay! Yes, we totally bribe your children for good photos, unashamedly.

And one last one of the whole family.

I hope you enjoyed meeting the Posey family as much as I enjoyed being with them!

It is always such an honor to be a part of a little baby's first year of life. They change so rapidly over that one year period, and it is a tremendous blessing to get to capture them as they evolve into the little boy/girl they will start to look like and become.
I have so enjoyed every shoot with this little guy and of course his older brother, Owen too! Grady is true to his personality now, at age one, as he was as a newborn, so chill. But he was completely aware at his newborn shoot too, as you can tell in the photo. He may be a calm cool, collected, fellow, but he is not missing much that is for sure. An observant peacemaking sort of guy, and in my opinion the world can use more guys like this. I am eager to continue to watch this little one grow up to become a fun little boy too, like his older brother!
Just to give you an idea of what I meant by how quickly newbies grow, here are just four images from Grady's different milestone photo shoots over this past year:
Can you believe that little tiny baby is already that one year old baby boy in the bottom picture?! I certainly cannot.
Here are a few more of my favorites from his One Year Session, enjoy!

And one of big brother Owen, looking especially old after his new big boy haircut.

And finally, the first taste of birthday cake. I think he's hooked. I love the look of suspicion in the first picture, followed by the one of his first taste, and then the full on abandon to shovel as fast as he can in to his mouth!
Happy Birthday, sweet Grady.
